As organisations accelerate cloud adoption, automation and AI initiatives, non-human identities (NHIs) are becoming the foundation of the modern digital workforce. Service accounts, APIs, AI agents, workloads and machine identities now outnumber human users in many environments, yet often remain outside traditional identity governance and security controls.
We explore why NHIs have become one of the fastest-growing areas of cyber risk. We’ll examine the challenges organisations face in discovering, governing and securing NHIs, and why excessive privileges, weak ownership, credential sprawl and limited visibility create security and compliance risks.
Drawing on real-world experience, we’ll discuss practical approaches to continuous discovery, real-time authorisation and observability, helping organisations improve accountability, reduce risk and build trust in the digital workforce.
