During International women’s day the benefits of diversity in IT companies were discussed. The number of women in the IT industry, the contribution that they bring, the role models and the importance of good education were amongst the topics that were discussed.

There are more and more initiatives to get attract more women to IT. Education and counselling at schools and profiling female role models are key to change the traditional perception ‘technical jobs are for men’.

Fox-IT: ‘With social engineering, women can bridge the gap between social skills and technique.’

Within mixed teams, the level of creativity is the highest. That is very important in ethical hacking. Generally, the social skills are better developed amongst women, and they can provide a valuable contribution when communication to clients and with social engineering activities.
