Secure telephony for land lines, fax and mobile telephones
The VECOM service is a joint venture between Sectra and Fox-IT. Following an assignment from the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, a solution was developed to make it possible to make secure phone calls government-wide. The most important applications are fixed telephony and fax traffic.
Fox-IT manages the VECOM service. Since Dutch state secrets are involved, it is essential to ensure that the management is in the hands of a trusted Dutch partner. The telephones and peripherals are supplied by Sectra.
The Dutch Intelligence Service, the AIVD, has classified the VECOM service as providing secure telephony to the level of ‘State Secret. Secret’.
