Today companies can choose from a large variety of security systems; firewalls, VPN and two-factor authentication are all in widespread use. However, a serious risk which remains is presented by the large amount of information held in server rooms and data centers. This data is generally stored on disks or tape in unencrypted form. Should any one of the company's security systems fail, or be compromised from within, there is a serious risk that a wrongdoer has easy access to this data.

An effective solution to the problem is the encryption of this data. Decru provides a good solution, in the form of the Decru DataFort. DataFort transparently encrypts the information held on your storage systems. The management of these storage systems remains unchanged, but access to this information is controlled by its owner.

Decru DataFort technology can be deployed in SAN (FC, iSCSI), NAS and SCSI tape back-up environments, without the need to modify servers, desktops, applications, or the way users work.

Decru Datafort is currently being considered by the Dutch Intelligence Service, the AIVD, for classification at 'State Secret: Strictly confidential' level for information storage systems.
