Cybercrime

Cybercrime is becoming a growing threat to society. In the battle against digital crime Fox-IT has pooled its knowledge in its Cybercrime unit. This special unit monitors and prevents cybercrime, helps organisations and authorities to be prepared, and investigates incidents. Fox-IT offers these services mainly to authorities, financial institutions and critical infrastructures, but they are accessible to every organisation.

Fraud and theft, espionage, hacking: digital crime is on the rise. The theft of information, crashing a website or manipulating online payment traffic has become the order of the day. And the consequences of such incidents are also increasing.

Fox-IT’s Cybercrime unit is at the forefront of the battle. It offers services to banks, authorities, critical infrastructures and companies with major commercial interests. Fox-IT’s security experts hail from a variety of fields: some have a hacker mindset and get under the skin of the attacker. Others are malware experts, botnet experts or cybercrime consultants. All the team members have been screened by the Dutch government.

The Cybercrime unit focuses on the four phases of the battle against cybercrime: prediction, prevention, detection and recovery.

Prediction

Our Intelligence department collects information on cybercrime from a host of channels. An example is surveillance in the digital underworld. By setting up the digital equivalent of a weather report, clients can be prepared for digital threats.

Prevention

The Audits & Readiness department ensures that organisations are ready to fight criminal behaviour. Whether we test the security with a hacker mindset, make recommendations, draw up a complete security plan or determine network architecture, preventing Cybercrime is our ultimate goal.

Detection

Checking is knowing, which is why it’s important that in addition to the preventive measures, detecting efforts are also deployed to find out whether there is an incident.

From our Security Operations Centre (SOC), or the digital incident room, we keep an eye on your digital property. This enables unusual transactions, deviations from the IT security policy or hacking attempts to be recognised and investigated.

Recovery

IIn the unfortunate event that your organisation actually experiences an incident, it is extremely important that a professional emergency response team investigates and isolates that incident. You then want to keep your primary processes up and running, and to collect evidence. Fox-IT’s emergency response team can be on site in a very short time to help you to handle the incident discreetly. After that the time can be taken to see what can be learned from it. Our emergency response teams know all the tricks, and have the clout needed to guide you through crisis situations.
