Menno van der Marel
Director and Co-founder
Menno van der Marel is director and co-founder of Fox-IT. He started his career in digital forensics as a scientific researcher at the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI) where he helped to create the NFI’s Department of Digital Technology. During his years at NFI, Menno successfully solved a variety of complex investigations and through co-operation with international law enforcement agencies helped to shape digital forensic investigation in the Netherlands. He co-founded Fox-IT with Ronald Prins in 1999, wanting to focus more on the detection aspect of investigations and the innovation of security solutions for the good of society. Menno studied applied physics, computer science and business administration at the Delft University of Technology.
Ronald Prins
Director and Co-founder
Ronald Prins is director and co-founder of Fox-IT. Previously, as a scientific researcher at the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI), he gained recognition by breaking codes on cryptographic security systems encountered by law enforcement in criminal investigations. Ronald also contributed to new methods and best practices for obtaining digital information in criminal investigations. He co-founded Fox-IT with Menno van der Marel in 1999, seeking to fully apply his creativity in developing innovative security solutions for highly sensitive environments.
Ronald studied applied mathematics and went on to specialize in cryptography at the Delft University of Technology.
Ad Scheepbouwer

Ad Scheepbouwer is director of Fox-IT. He also holds positions as chairman of RFS Holland Holding (Wehkamp), supervisory board member of Bank Ovens & Van Eeghen, chairman of the Supervisory Council of Maasstad Hospital in Rotterdam, and member of the Supervisory Council of the Foundation for the Dutch National Art Collection. Named one of the world’s Top 50 CEOs by the Harvard Business Review in 2010, Ad was previously CEO of Royal KPN N.V. for 10 years and prior to that was CEO of TNT for 13 years.
