Menno van der Marel
Chief Executive Officer
Menno van der Marel is director and co-founder of Fox-IT. He studied Applied Physics at the Delft University of Technology and specialized in Computer Science and Business Administration. After he finished his studies he started working as a scientific researcher at the Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI). He was actively involved in setting up the Department of Digital Technology at the NFI. Through co-operation with international law enforcement agencies he managed to form digital forensic investigation. He also successfully solved a string of complex investigations during his time at the NFI. In 1999, he co-founded Fox-IT with Ronald Prins. He wanted to focus more on the detection aspect of investigations, and on the implementation of innovative security solutions for blue-chip clients.
Ronald Prins
Chief Executive Officer
Ronald Prins is director and co-founder of Fox-IT. He studied Applied Mathematics at the Delft University of Technology and went on to specialize in cryptography. Working as a scientific researcher at the Netherlands Forensic Institute, he broke many (cryptographic) security systems encountered by law enforcement in criminal investigations. He was also partly responsible for the use of the latest methods of obtaining digital information for criminal investigations. In 1999, he set up Fox-IT together with Menno van der Marel. He wanted to fully apply his creativity to developing innovative solutions in highly sensitive environments.
Ton Wallast
Chief Financial Officer
Ton Wallast is (financial) director of Fox-IT. After his Physics study at the Delft University of Technology and the University of Leiden he worked a few years as scientific researcher at the Delft University of Technology. His research subject was "Quantum Computing". After this he made a changeover into business and worked for six years as all round consultant in the middle market. In that period of time he was busy as an adviser for start-ups, fusions and takeovers (including business valuations), legal restructuring, financing and business economic consulting. At the same time he graduated with distinction as business economist at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. In 2007 Ton started working at his former client and now employer Fox-IT to contribute to a more secure society with his financial knowledge and expertise.
